UCOTA Runs Two Test Tours to Prepare Communities for Pearls of Uganda

UCOTA has run two separate test tours for many of its new member products around Queen Elizabeth National Park to approve them as new members of UCOTA and for integration into Pearls of Uganda. The test tours are meant to prepare community tourism enterprises to practice handling guests and the operational processes of running a small tourism enterprise.

Conservation and Culture Weekend Promotes Sustainable Tourism

The Uganda Community Tourism Association (UCOTA) held a pair of events to celebrate “Conservation and Culture” this past weekend at MishMash in Kampala.The weekend was focused around dual events: a stakeholder forum to announce the Pearls of Uganda Program’s Sustainability Leaders as a culmination of the sustainable tourism criteria program and a public festival that invited Pearls communities to perform, sell crafts, and hold workshops.
